Suburban Bushlands

A Host to many things

Introduction

This page is intended to archive the japanese lyrics that neocities webhoster, hikarimozaiko/Hollywood-Kouen has archived of J.A. Seazer's plays, from roughly 1984-2003. These are presented as is with any english speaking suplementary infomation I can find. For the erudition of Western Fans of J.A. Seazer's music. Who want to look into this relativitly underrated period of his music career. Or atleast underrated compared to his work under Shuji Terayama.

Note

A lot of the plays here, had their soundtracks released on cassette. Which with exceptions noted otherwise, are out of print. If you interested in listening to them. there are several solutions

  1. Official releases: One of the most accessible paths, is importing official releases, these give you the best quality without the grain and age of cassettes. Official releases include:

    1. 万有引力◎黙示録: This compilation has the original versions of duel songs from Revolutionary Girl Utena, and some additional songs from their respectives plays. However it has some glaring omissions, a lot of Black Rose songs apart from those that appeared in the play Hamlet are not here. So No Earth as a character gallery, Conic Absolute Egg Archibras, Transparent Period of Adolescence, or the songs from the saturn Utena game.

    2. 万有引力 Vol.X: Vol.1 and Vol.2 of these compilation album contains music from rought 1983 to 2008. Apart from omitting the dual choruses. These give a good oversight into how arrangements and production have shifted across the deacades.

    3. Bonus CDs: 少女錬金術師 卵・バラモノガタリ and バルバラ矮星子黙示録 have bonus CDs with a few material from this period of J.A. Seazer's music. They are listed as such (Songs are in track order)

      1. バルバラ矮星子黙示録: The Inversion of Me and My Room, Missing Link, Dance of Flight=I Am Various, Infinite, Myriad People(Non-Utena song from Anamorphic Music Theater Kafka's Egg-Bells)

      2. 少女錬金術師 卵・バラモノガタリ: Spira Mirablis Theatre, Absolute Destiny Apocalypse, Angelic Creations Namely Light

      3. Revolution Pharsalia(Transformation + Origination): End of the Century of Underground Imagination(Light Bulb Type Ammonite), Light Mosaic and Girl Collection(Theater Set Hunger Magician Requiem)

    4. Reprints: Will be noted for a invidual play.

  2. Youtube and Nico Nico Uploads: If physical releases are too expansive, Youtube and especially Nico Nico have an array of songs unofficial uploaded. You can find stuff under J.A.シーザー/J.A. Seazer, or (演劇実験室◉)万有引力/(Theatrical Laboratory◉)Universal Gravitation

  3. Bootlegs: Unless you are very scrupulous about piracy, it's morally correct to pirate out of print media. If you want to listen to the complete plays without paying 50 to 100s of dollers on cassettes. This is the only way you can do unless you try to press demand towards Diskunion or Asiancrack for complete releases. Like logically speaking, if works are out of print and not being used for revenue for artistic labour. You are not cutting off the artist from revenue, if you want to support J.A. Seazer, then buy any of the official releases until reprints are released.

As for the means to do this, there are Peer to Peer sharers like Soulseek for example, Public or Private Seeders ofc, The easiest albums to find there are offical releases(Which I don't condone unless you really don't have the money or means to get them), or Light Bulb Type Ammonite, which has been ripped by Mutent Sounds circa 2007.

Alternatively especially for more obscure releases, there paid rips like those by Music Explorer, or you can try to get close to certain traders. But I understand that people are really against these kinds of things. And while I've done these things, I do intend to rip and publically share the cassette I have to alleviate the issue of preservation.
