Opinion

Suna or Desert Zoo as it was called originally, is a original work by J.A. Seazer and probably the most famous non-Terayama play that Universal Gravitation did. Ironically despite it recurrance in the troup's history, the soundtrack is the only tangible thing I can find apart from this epad article with stage photos, or the similar JDTA article; There is a VHS recording of the 1986 performance archived at the Wasada University Theatre Museaum, But who knows, when they're going to make the video public, whether on Youtube or through CollabJapan

But As a soundtrack, it's a very industrial sounding album, particularly with the rhythm parts. Which I assumed to be using a Yamaha RX5 or other Drum Machine with sample manipulation. But either way, the way J.A. Seazer manipulates drum sounds, combined with the awesome synth work, mixing glossy chorused Sounds and bare analog sounds. Makes Suna a great listening experiance, and a clear embrace of all the development that J.A. Seazer had, in the transition to digital. Even if a bit of dramatic power and rawness we associate with the Tenjo Sajiki period was loss.
